D2 ADA Honors 268 GNAC Academic Achievers

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Student-athletes from six Great Northwest Athletic Conference schools are being recognized for exceptional academic achievement with selection by the Division 2 Athletic Directors Association (D2 ADA) for its 2017-18 Academic Achievement Awards.

A total of 286 student-athletes from Central Washington, Concordia, Seattle Pacific, Simon Fraser, Western Oregon and Western Washington received the award. They are among over 10,000 students recognized from 165 institutions from 24 Division II conferences.

To be selected for a D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award, a student-athlete must have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during the last academic year, have attended a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college-level work and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. To be eligible, the athletic director of the school must be a current dues-paying member of the D2 ADA.

Central Washington led the six GNAC institutions with 78 award winners. Seattle Pacific finished with 60 winners followed by Concordia (49), Western Oregon (47), Western Washington (42) and Simon Fraser (10).
