PORTLAND, Ore. – A pair of solid volleyball performances by Alaska Anchorage’s Chrisalyn Johnson and Western Washington’s Abby Phelps headline the list of honorees for GNAC Players of the Week.

Johnson was named the Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week after she led the Seawolves to five-set wins over No. 10 Northwest Nazarene and No. 25 Central Washington with 40 kills, an average of four kills per set and three aces. She had a career-high of 24 kills to go along with 15 digs in Thursday’s victory over the Wildcats and then delivered 16 kills and a season-high 18 digs in Saturday’s win over the Nighthawks.

Phelps earned Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week honors for her 36 digs, six digs per set and six blocks to go along with 25 kills in a pair of three-set road sweeps that ran the Vikings’ current win streak to 12 matches. She finished with eight kills, 13 digs, two aces and two blocks in Thursday’s win at Western Oregon and had a double-double of 17 kills and 23 digs to go along with four blocks in Saturday’s win at Concordia.

Concordia swept the women’s soccer weekly awards on the heels of its 2-0 upset of No. 2 Western Washington and its GNAC regular season title. Quinn Williams was named the Offensive Player of the Week after she connected for two goals in the Cavaliers’ 6-1 victory over Central Washington and scored Concordia’s insurance goal in Saturday’s 2-0 win at Western Washington.

Anna Miller earned her second straight Defensive Player of the Week award after she made 12 saves in the two matches. Her shutout at WWU included a big penalty kick save on a ninth-minute penalty kick, one of her eight saves in the match.

Seattle Pacific’s Gabe Kellum was named the Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for his two goals and two assists as the Falcons won two matches to move into first place in the GNAC standings. He had two goals in SPU’s 3-2 double-overtime win over Concordia on Thursday, converting a penalty kick with two seconds left in regulation before scoring the game-winner in the 107th minute. Kellum then had two assists in the Falcons’ 3-1 win over Saint Martin’s on Saturday.

Montana State Billings goalkeeper Tom Lohmann was named the Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week in a pair of home victories. He finished with three saves in Thursday’s 2-1 win over No. 12 Simon Fraser and made two more saves in a 2-0 shutout of Western Washington on Saturday, his first clean sheet of the season. In the process, Lohmann set the MSUB career record for saves.

Humboldt State wide receiver Chase Krivashei was named the Football Offensive Player of the Week after he finished with 177 all-purpose yards in the Lumberjacks’ 47-7 win over Simon Fraser. He caught seven passes for 103 yards and two touchdowns and became the HSU all-time leader in receptions. He also had two punt returns for 69 yards, including a 59-yarder that set up the Lumberjacks’ fourth touchdown of the game.

Central Washington took the other two football weekly awards after its 34-23 win over Azusa Pacific. Linebacker Tyler Hasty was named Defensive Player of the Week after he finished with four tackles and a CWU record five pass breakups, including one that was deflected for an interception in the fourth quarter. Punter Jonathan Kuhn was named the Special Teams Player of the Week after punting three times for an average of 41.3 yards per punt.

In the final week for the fall men's golf season, Saint Martin's Trevor Frisby earned Player of the Week honors after finished third at the Dennis Rose Invitational in Hawaii, carding a three-round score of 212. He recorded one of the lowest rounds of the tournament with a score of 65 in the second round. The performance led the Saints to a fourth place team finish.

GNAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK SELECTIONS – WEEK 9
FOOTBALL
Offensive: Chase Krivashei (Humboldt State, WR, 5-9, Sr., Corona, Calif. – Centennial): Krivashei became the Lumberjacks’ all-time receptions leader as he finished with seven catches for 103 yards and two touchdowns in a 47-7 win over Simon Fraser. His 294 catches eclipsed the record of 293 set by Dustin Creager (2001-04). Both of Krivashei’s touchdowns came in the first quarter as the Lumberjacks staked themselves to a 28-0 first quarter lead. Krivashei also had two punt returns for 69 yards, which included a 59-yard return that led the Lumberjacks’ fourth touchdown. Also Nominated: Justin Peterson (Central Washington).

Defensive: Tyler Hasty (Central Washington, LB, 6-1, Sr., Battle Ground, Wash. – Battle Ground): Hasty finished with four tackles and a Central Washington single-game record with five pass breakups in the Wildcats’ 34-23 win over Azusa Pacific. Two of those breakups came on third down and the fifth was deflected to teammate Max McIntosh for an interception. Also Nominated: Tyler Wharf (Western Oregon).

Special Teams: Jonathan Kuhn (Central Washington, P, 5-11, Sr., Mercer Island, Wash. – Mercer Island): Kuhn averaged 41.3 yards per punt on three attempts in Saturday’s 34-23 win over Azusa Pacific. His performance included a long 52-yard punt that pinned the Cougars inside the 10-yard line late in the fourth quarter.

MEN’S SOCCER
Offensive: Gabe Kellum (Seattle Pacific, F, 6-0, Sr., Rennes, France – Basch): Kellum had two goals and two assists in a pair of home victories that lifted Seattle Pacific to first place in the GNAC standings. He converted a penalty kick with two seconds remaining in regulation to send Thursday’s game with Concordia into overtime and netted the game-winner in the 107th minute on a free kick as the Falcons won 3-2. Kellum then had assists on the first two goals in the Falcons’ 3-1 win over Saint Martin’s on Saturday. Also Nominated: Christian Thyron (Concordia), Guillaume Kremer (Montana State Billings), Jose Marquez (Saint Martin’s).

Defensive: Tom Lohmann (Montana State Billings, GK, 6-2, Sr., Berlin, Germany – Nyack Coll.): Lohmann broke the Montana State Billings’ career save record as the Yellowjackets won their second and third matches in a row. He finished with three saves against four shots on goal in Thursday’s 2-1 win over Simon Fraser and he made two more saves in a 2-0 win over Western Washington on Saturday, his first shutout of the season. Also Nominated: Sebastian Navarro (Saint Martin’s), Colton Ronk (Western Washington).

WOMEN’S SOCCER
Offensive: Quinn Williams(Concordia, F, 5-6, So., Pukalani, Hawaii – Kamehameha-Maui): Williams connected for three goals and had an assist as the Cavaliers clinched the GNAC regular season championship. She scored two goals in the 75th and 90th minutes in Thursday’s 6-1 victory over Central Washington. She then scored the insurance goal in the 82nd minute in the Cavaliers’ 2-0 shutout at Western Washington. Also Nominated: Lauren Allison (Saint Martin’s), Makayla Sonstelie (Seattle Pacific), Meli Cortez (Western Oregon), Gabriela Pelogi (Western Washington).

Defensive: Anna Miller (Concordia, GK, 5-6, So., Issaquah, Wash. – Issaquah): Miller finished with 12 saves in the two matches. She recorded four saves while playing 68 minutes in the 6-1 victory over Central Washington on Thursday. Against Western Washington on Saturday, Miller had eight saves and had a key save on a penalty kick in the ninth minute to preserve the 2-0 shutout. Also Nominated: Kai Mahuka (Western Oregon), Sierra Shugarts (Western Washington).

VOLLEYBALL
Offensive: Chrisalyn Johnson (Alaska Anchorage, OH, 5-8, Jr., Anchorage, Alaska – Dimond): Johnson led Alaska Anchorage to a sweep of two of the GNAC’s top-25 teams with 40 kills, an average of 4.00 kills per set, a .248 hitting percentage and three aces. She had a career-high 24 kills to go along with 15 digs in the Seawolves’ five-set win over Central Washington on Thursday and then delivered 16 kills and a season-high 18 digs to go along with two aces in a five-set victory over Northwest Nazarene. Also Nominated: Maggie McTaggart (Central Washington), Rebecca Mitchell (Central Washington), Alisha Bettinson (Western Oregon).

Defensive: Abby Phelps (Western Washington, OH, 5-10, Jr., Manson, Wash. – Manson): Phelps led Western Washington to its 11th and 12th straight wins with 36 digs, six digs per set and six blocks to go along with 25 kills and a .278 hitting percentage in a pair of three-set road sweeps. She finished with eight kills, 13 digs, two aces and two blocks in Thursday’s win at Western Oregon and had a double-double of 17 kills and 23 digs to go along with four blocks in Saturday’s win at Concordia. Also Nominated: Keala Kaio-Perez (Alaska Anchorage), Kyla Morgan (Central Washington), Izela Alvarez (Montana State Billings), Hannah Neumann (Saint Martin’s), Libbie Hoene (Western Oregon).

MEN'S GOLF
Trevor Frisby (Saint Martin's, Jr., Edmond, Wash. - Meadowdale): Frisby finished third at the Dennis Rose Invitational in Hawaii, carding a three-round score of 212. He recorded one of the lowest rounds of the tournament with a score of 65 in the second round. The performance led the Saints to a fourth place team finish.
