PORTLAND, Ore. – After a four-goal week helped Simon Fraser to its third straight victory, sophomore forward Emma Pringle has been recognized as the United Soccer Coaches Division II Women’s Player of the Week.

Prior to this honor, the Simon Fraser marksman was named the GNAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. Pringle scored just 45 seconds into the Clan’s match at Saint Martin’s on Thursday and completed the brace with a 73rd-minute goal in the 5-0 shutout of the Saints. Against Northwest Nazarene on Saturday, Pringle scored goals in the 44th and 80th minutes en route to the 3-0 shutout at home.

During the Clan’s three-game winning streak, the team has outscored their opponents 12-2 and has climbed to fifth in the GNAC standings with nine points. Pringle has produced seven goals in her last three matches.

Pringle’s run of form has also carried her to the top of the GNAC leaderboard with 11 goals, leading Western Washington forward Gabriela Pelogi by two. Pringle also leads the league with 23 points and ranks third with 37 shots.

Simon Fraser embarks on a two-game road trip this weekend, facing off against Montana State Billings this Thursday at 1 p.m. In the teams’ two contests last year, Pringle was limited to just one goal in both overtime losses against the Yellowjackets.
