ARCATA, Calif. – Humboldt State offensive lineman Alex Cappa received an official invitation to participate in the 2018 Reese's Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala. on Jan. 27, 2018.

The Senior Bowl is the top postseason all-star game and it annually features the country's best senior collegiate football players and top NFL draft prospects. The players will represent North and South squads and are coached by coaching staffs for two National Football League teams.

"We are very excited and tremendously proud of Alex," said Humboldt State head coach Rob Smith. "It is a great way to finish his collegiate career. Many NFL executives, coaches and player personnel will be on hand for this prestigious postseason all-star game."

Cappa became the Great Northwest Athletic Conference's first four-time Offensive Lineman of the Year following the 2017 season, and he is a finalist for the Gene Upshaw Award, an honor given to the nation's top lineman.

"I am just really excited," said Cappa. "It is a great opportunity for small school players, and it's a great opportunity to showcase what I am able to do."

Cappa is just the second player in GNAC history to earn an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl. Dixie State's Joe Don Duncan participated in the 2013 edition of the game.
