PORTLAND, Ore. – GNAC Insider returned Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. (PST) with a stacked show as the month of January rolls on.

Making his GNAC Insider debut was Saint Martin's men's basketball guard Rhett Baerlocher. A senior, Baerlocher is in his fourth season in Lacey.

No one is averaging more rebounds for the Saints than Baerlocher, who has pulled down an average of 5.1 boards per game. He is also one of five Saints scoring in double figures, averaging 10.1 points per game.

Now at 12-2 (5-1 GNAC) on the year, SMU sits in a four-way tie for first place in the league standings. Baerlocher will lead the team back to the court for a pair of big games this week, beginning on Thursday night at co-GNAC leader Western Oregon.

Over in Nampa, the Northwest Nazarene men's basketball team also finds itself in that tie for first place as the third month of the season continues. The Nighthawks are riding a four-game winning streak, most recently blowing out Simon Fraser, 88-72, on Saturday.

The team will travel to Alaska this week for a pair of contests against Alaska and Alaska Anchorage, and joining the show to preview the week ahead was head coach Paul Rush. This is Rush's second year at the helm in Nampa, taking over the head job after spending the previous two seasons as an assistant.

GNAC Insider was also joined by Western Oregon athletic director Curtis Campbell. Campbell has held his position with the Wolves since 2017, coming to the GNAC after serving as the director of athletics at Tuskegee. It's been a busy winter in Monmouth as Campbell has made new head coaching hires for both the WOU soccer and volleyball teams within the past month.
