PORTLAND, Ore. – Fresh off a 2018 season that included a GNAC championship and a 17-2-0 record, Simon Fraser placed five representatives on the D2CAA and United Soccer Coaches All-American Teams this week.

Sophomore Matteo Polisi, named the D2CCA West Region Player of the Year earlier this month, was selected to both the D2CCA and United Soccer Coaches First Team. Polisi finished the season leading the GNAC in points per match (2.61), goals (18) and shots on goal per match (2.11).

Also receiving first-team nods were forward/midfielder Connor Glennon, defender Michael North and midfielder Mamadi Camara.

Camara, the GNAC Player of the Year, earned first-team honors after assisting his team to its third conference title in as many years. No one in the conference tallied more assists than the forward, who finished the season with 13. North, the conference's Defensive Player of the Year, anchored a defense that topped the GNAC in goals allowed (7), goals against average (0.39) and shutouts (12). The senior started all 19 matches and recorded five assists on the 2018 campaign.

Glennon patrolled the center of the pitch and dominated for the duration of the season. The freshman had a flair for the dramatic in his first year in Burnaby, tying for first in the conference in game-winning goals with four. He also finished second in the league in points (38) and goals (16).

Rounding out the Clan's selections was goalkeeper Luciano Trasolini, who was selected to the United Soccer Coaches Third Team. The Burnaby-native ranked inside the top-five in Division II at the end of the regular season in both shutouts (11) and goals against average (0.412).
