GNAC Names 45 To All-Academic Men's Soccer Team
Tuesday, November 17, 2015 PORTLAND, Ore. – They are not only a talented bunch on the pitch, but they are a smart bunch as well.
A total of 121 student-athletes, including 76 women and 45 men, have earned selection to the 2015 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Soccer All-Academic Teams.
Four of the 43 student-athletes of the men’s squad hold perfect 4.00 GPAs. Mary senior James Liddiard is at 4.00 while pursuring a master’s of business administration degree. Northwest Nazarene senior Erik Anderson is at 4.00 as an engineering major. Seattle Pacific has a pair of 4.00 GPAs in sophomores Jess Cateyano and Ryan Higgins, both physiology majors. Simon Fraser junior Brandon Watson is one 12 repeat selections to the team. Watson has a 4.11 GPA as a kinesiology major on the Canadian system that awards 4.33 points for an A-plus.
Of the 13 repeaters on the men’s team, four are three-time selections: Mary senior Jonathan Sellars, Seattle Pacific seniors Ian Adams and Matt Merchant and Western Washington’s Uche Ugwoaba.
Seattle Pacific landed a total of 25 players on the GNAC All-Academic Soccer Teams and led men’s selections with 12.
