PORTLAND, Ore. - Simon Fraser and Seattle Pacific remained 1-2 in this week's official NCAA Division II West Regional poll.  The poll will eventually determine the six teams that will advance to the West Regional playoffs next month.

Grand Canyon from the PacWest Conference is ranked third followed by three CCAA schools - Chico State, Cal State L.A. and Cal State Dominguez Hills.

In this week's NSCAA national poll, SFU retained its No. 3  ranking, despite playing Montana State Billings to a scoreless draw last Saturday.

NCAA West Region – 1. Simon Fraser (11-1-1); 2. Seattle Pacific (10-1-4); 3. Grand Canyon (13-2-0); 4. Chico State (9-2-4); 5. Cal State L.A. (10-3-2); 6. Cal State Dominguez Hills (9-5-1); 7. Notre Dame de Namur (10-3-1); 8. Cal State Stanislaus (9-3-2).

Clan Closing In On Another GNAC Title

With a six-point lead in the conference race, Simon Fraser needs just one win in its final three games to clinch at least a tie for its third straight Great Northwest Athletic Conference men's soccer title.

The Clan (13-1-1, 9-1-1) travels to Lacey Thursday for a game with Saint Martin's before playing against second-place Seattle Pacific (10-1-4, 6-1-4) Saturday night at Interbay Stadium.  A win Saturday would clinch the title outright regardless of what happens Thursday.

In this week's NCAA national statistical report, the Clan remained No. 1 in scoring averaging 3.73 goals per game.  They also rank first in total goals (56) and total points (156) and second in total assists (44).
