PORTLAND, Ore. – Soccer programs from six GNAC schools were recognized as Team Academic Award Winners during the 2018-19 academic year, as announced by the United Soccer Coaches on Oct. 3.

The Montana State Billings, Northwest Nazarene, Seattle Pacific and Western Washington men’s and women’s soccer teams were all honored as NCAA Division II programs to maintain a team cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 or higher. The Central Washington and Saint Martin’s women’s teams were also recognized with the award.

A total of 999 soccer teams (347 men’s and 652 women’s) made the list. Of that total, 259 schools were represented by both their men’s and women’s programs.

On the men’s side, Greg Brisbon’s Vikings finished with the highest GNAC GPA with a 3.47. Seattle Pacific was the next highest representative from the conference with a 3.23 and Northwest Nazarene posted a 3.15.

On the women’s side, Stephen Cavallo’s Yellowjackets posted a GNAC-best 3.74. It was Montana State Billings’ 17th time receiving the award. Northwest Nazarene followed closely behind with a 3.62 while Seattle Pacific posted a 3.55. Central Washington received the award for the 10th consecutive year.
