PORTLAND, Ore. – With the True North Classic signaling the start of the GNAC women’s golf season, the men are waiting in the wings.

All six GNAC men’s golf teams will compete at the Saint Martin’s Invitational starting on Friday in DuPont, Washington. Teams will compete in 36 holes on Friday and 18 holes on Saturday.

Following the weekend in Dupont, the six teams will head north on Interstate 5 to compete in the Western Washington Invitational on Monday and Tuesday in Bellingham, Washington.

Defending GNAC champion Western Washington enters the season at No. 9 on both the Golfstat Division II Team Rankings and the NCAA Division II Bushnell Golfweek Preseason Coaches Poll.

Head coach Luke Bennett’s Vikings return three First Team All-GNAC golfers from last season, including senior Ethan Casto, junior Brody Bonfilio and sophomore Jordan Lee, who earned GNAC Freshman of the Year and GNAC Player of the Year honors in his first collegiate season. Lee went on to receive PING All-West Region and NCAA Division II All-Freshmen honors.

Also returning from last year’s All-GNAC First Team is Simon Fraser’s Isaac Lee. Returning Second Team All-GNAC selections are Concordia’s Jaxson Daskalos and Riley Killip; Simon Fraser’s Sy Lovan, Scott Kerr and Aidan Goodfellow; Saint Martin’s’ Tyler Fitchett; and Northwest Nazarene’s Henry Bernard.
