Week of Nov. 7-13: Stefan Tica, Alaska Fairbanks (F, 6-7, So., Belgrade, Serbia Panola College) and David Downs, Seattle Pacific (G, 6-2, So., Kirkland, WA Bellevue Christian). . .Tica scored 45 points including 30 in Sunday's 88-85 win over San Francisco State. Tica made 10 of 15 three-pointers, including eight of 10 against the Gators in earning all-tournament honors in the Chico State Mac Martin Invitational. He was 14 of 21 overall and also had eight rebounds. He's a ball player, there's no question he loves to play, UAF coach Mick Durham said. He's obviously going to be very valuable for us on both ends. He is a good chemistry-leadership guy and was from day one when we started practice. He has a way of bringing guys together. You can never have enough of those guys. . .Downs was selected the Most Valuable Player in the Dixie State Clarion Invitational as he led the Falcons to two wins, including a 16-point victory over 2011 regional participant Dixie State and a 12-point win over Colorado Mesa. Downs had 34 points in the two victories, including 26 in Saturday's win over Mesa. In that contest, he made five of seven shots, three of four three-pointers and 13 of 14 foul shots.

Week of Nov. 14-20: Blair Wheadon, Western Oregon (G, 6-2, Sr., Junction City, OR) scored 41 points to lead the Wolves to a pair of two-point victories in the WOU Phoenix Inn Shootout. Wheadon scored 21 points in a 73-71 win over Cal State East Bay, then tallied 20 including the winning basket in the final minute in a 60-58 victory over 16th ranked Augustana, S.D. Wheadon shot 58.3 percent (14-24) in the two contests. He made six of eight three-pointers and all seven of his foul shots. He also had four rebounds, three assists and four steals.

Week of Nov. 21-27: Javari Williams, Simon Fraser (G, 6-5, 225, So., Brampton, ON) scored 83 points and also had 21 rebounds, nine assists, four blocks and four steals to lead the Clan to two wins in three contests. Williams had a pair of 32-point performances including one against unbeaten Humboldt State which extended its home court winning streak to 18 games with a 102-87 victory. Williams made 29 of 52 shots (55.8) including five of 14 three-pointers.

Week of Nov. 28-Dec. 4: Kolton Nelson, Western Oregon (C, 6-8, 285, Jr., Klamath Falls, OR Mazama) scored 36 points and had 13 rebounds leading the Wolves to come-from-behind road wins at Central Washington and Northwest Nazarene. WOU, which has won seven straight, overcame a 74-69 deficit with 3:02 left to beat the Wildcats 77-75 going ahead on a lay-up by Nelson with 39.2 seconds left. Nelson made 10 of 14 shots, including all three of his three-point attempts in the contest. The Wolves then went on a 10-0 run including four points by Nelson to rally from a 62-55 deficit with 4:24 in a 79-75 overtime win against NNU. In the two contests, Nelson shot 59.3 percent (16 of 27).

Week of Dec. 5-11: David Downs, Seattle Pacific (G, 6-2, So., Kirkland, WA Bellevue Christian) scored 45 points to lead the Falcons to road wins over Chaminade and BYU-Hawaii. Downs scored 33 points in Saturday's 89-76 win at BYU-Hawaii. On Friday he scored all 12 of his points on three-pointers during a decisive second-half stretch in a 61-57 win at Chaminade. In the two contests, Downs made 13 of 26 shots, including 10 of 19 three-pointers. He also made nine of 11 free throws and led his team in the two contests with 10 assists.

Week of Dec. 12-18: Zach Henifin, Western Washington (F, 6-5, Sr., Bellingham, WA Whatcom CC) and Kevin Davis, Central Washington (F, 6-9, So., Federal Way, WA Todd Beamer/Tacoma CC) each led their teams to victories over previously unbeaten and nationally 10 th ranked Rollins, Fla., and earned all-tournament honors in the Great Western Shootout in Las Vegas. . .In two tournament games, Henifin scored 37 points connecting on 13 of 22 field goal attempts and eight of 10 free throws. He also had 16 rebounds, eight at the offensive end, six assists and six steals and made three of seven treys. . .Davis scored 33 points, making 14 of 22 field goals attempts. He also had 20 rebounds (10 offensively), blocked six shots and had three steals. . .In three games, including a win over Dominican, Davis, who leads the GNAC with five double-doubles, had 47 points, 30 rebounds, 11 blocks and eight steals. Including a game with Quest (BC), Henifin had 42 points, 21 rebounds and six steals during the week.

Week of Dec. 26-Jan. 1: Taylor Rohde, Alaska Anchorage (F, 6-9, Sr., Phoenix, AZ Pinnacle) scored 44 points, connecting on 16 of 23 shots and 12 of 14 free throws in 37 and 23-point home wins over defending GNAC champion Central Washington and Northwest Nazarene. Rohde also had 13 rebounds and three steals as the Seawolves extended their win streak to nine, equaling the fifth longest in school history. Rohde leads the GNAC in field goal percentage (62.7), ranks second in scoring (20.1) and third in rebounding (8.5).

Week of Jan. 2-8: Blair Wheadon, Western Oregon (G, 6-2, 180, Sr., Junction City, OR) scored 45 points including 29 in Saturday's 83-73 win at Western Washington in which he made seven of eight three-point shots. Wheadon made 12 of 25 shots, nine of 15 on three-pointers, in WOU's two-game road trip. He was also 12 of 12 from the foul line and had 12 assists and four steals. His seven three-pointers against WWU matched the second highest single-game total in GNAC history for players with just one miss, falling one short of the record of eight set by Robert Hicks of Central Washington against Humboldt State on Jan. 26, 2006. After missing his third attempt, he made his last five.

Week of Jan. 9-15 & Jan. 16-22: John Allen, Western Washington (G, 6-1, Jr., Brier, WA Mountlake Terrace). . .During the Week of Jan. 9-15, Allen scored 33 points including 17 in the Vikings 73-68 road win at Alaska Anchorage. Allen scored seven points during a 9-0 run to start the second half, then hit a key three-pointer with 20 seconds left to extend a two-point lead to five. He made 10 of 17 shots, including five of eight three-pointers, as WWU won both its games in Alaska for the third time in the past four years. He also had 10 assists. . .For the Week of Jan. 16-22, Allen scored 50 points and shot 81.8 percent from the floor (18 of 22) in leading the Vikings to 13 and 21-point wins over Central Washington and Northwest Nazarene. Allen, who is shooting 51.1 percent overall and 44.8 percent from the arc, made six of 10 treys and also recorded five steals. He had 32 points, making 12 of 14 shots, in Wednesday's regionally televised game on ROOT Sports. Allen is the first player to win the award in back-to-back weeks since Brian Barkdoll accomplished that feat in February, 2009 and is the first player in the 11-year history of the GNAC to win the award outright in consecutive weeks.

Week of Jan. 23-29: Antoine Proctor, Montana State Billings (G, 6-3, 190, Sr., Washington, DC Sacramento State) scored 37 points and also had nine rebounds five assists and four steals to lead the Yellowjackets to home wins over Western Oregon and Saint Martin's. Proctor made 12 of 23 shots, including six of nine three-pointers as MSUB extended its record to 5-1 in its last six contests. He currently ranks second in the GNAC in both scoring (18.9) and steals(2.4). In addition to leading MSUB in those two categories, he is second on his team in rebounds (5.0) and ranks third in assists (2.79) and in free throw percentage (79.3)
