PORTLAND, Ore. – For the second year in a row, Western Washington senior forward Trevor Jasinsky and Alaska Anchorage senior guard Jack Macdonald has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Division II Academic All-District 8 Men’s Basketball Team.

The are among six total honorees on the All-District 8 Team, which is comprised of players from the GNAC, the California Collegiate Athletic Association and the PacWest Conference. The four will now have their names forwarded on to the ballot for the CoSIDA Division II Academic All-America Team, which will be announced in March.

Jasinsky, who has a 3.49 cumulative GPA as a marketing major, is the Vikings’ leading scorer with an average of 14.1 points per game and also averages 5.6 rebounds per game in 24 starts. The GNAC Preseason Player of the Year, Jasinsky scored a season-high of 30 points against Azusa Pacific back on Nov. 16 and has twice finished with double-doubles. The latest double-double was a 17-point, 10-rebound effort against Seattle Pacific on Jan. 23.

Macdonald, who has a 3.73 GPA as an accounting major, is averaging 9.4 points and 1.9 rebounds per game while starting 14 of the Seawolves’ 27 games. Macdonald has scored in double-digits in 12 games, topped by a 25-point performance against Alaska on January 21. He scored 19 points in 40 minutes of action in Tuesday’s overtime win at Alaska.

Earlier this month, both Jasinsky and Macdonald were named to the GNAC Men’s Basketball All-Academic Team. For Jasinsky it was his third conecutive selection.

To be eligible for the CoSIDA All-Academic All-America nomination process, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average and must have completed one full calendar year at the nominating institution. Nominated athletes must also have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at the position listed.
