PORTLAND, Ore. - Seattle Pacific guard David Downs, who earlier was selected the GNAC and Daktronics West Region Player of the Year, was named to three NCAA Division II All-American teams Monday.

Downs was selected to the NABC and Basketball Times first team and was a second team selection to the Daktronics team which is selected by the nation's sports information directors.

Downs finished his senior season as the No. 9 all-time scorer in GNAC history with 1,786 points.  He also ended up fourth in GNAC history in career steals with 561 and seventh in three-pointers made with 245.

This season he finished third in the conference in scoring (20.4) and fourth in assists (4.7).

Joining Downs on the Daktronics team was guard Mark McLaughlin of Central Washington.  McLaughlin was selected to the third team. McLahughlin led Division II in scoring this year averaging 27.1 points per game.

McLaughlin and Western Washington center Austin Bragg will play in the 2014 Reese’s Division II College All-Star Game Friday at 7 p.m. EDT at the Ford Center in Evansville, Ind.
