PORTLAND, Ore. – Two more Great Northwest Athletic Conference men’s basketball alumni will be taking their game to the next level with signings with Eurpoean professional clubs.

Alaska forward/center Almir Hadzisehovic announced this week via Facebook that he has signed a contract with Balonesto Torreldones, a club in Madrid, Spain that plays in the Spanish Basketball Association (EBA). Alaska Anchorage guard Brian McGill, meanwhile, has signed a deal to play with RSV Eintracht Stahnsdorf of the German ProB Bundesliga.

For Hadzisehovic, a native of Serbia, it will be a return to his home continent after four seasons playing college basketball in the United States. A two-year performer for the Nanooks, Hadzisehovic earned Honorable Mention All-GNAC selection two-times. In 2015-16, Hadzisehovic led the GNAC and finished 15th in Division II in field goal shooting, making 60.8 percent of his shots. He led the team in offensive rebounds (66), was second for the Nanooks in scoring (12.4 points per game) and was third in rebounds (5.1 rebounds per game).

Hadzisehovic joins a Torreldones program that finished with a 10-16 record last season.

McGill, a four-year member of the Alaska Anchorage program and a Second Team All-GNAC selection in 2015-16, posted career averages of 15.5 points, 5.2 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game. Despite missing the first two months of the season, McGill finished his senior season averaging 17.8 points per game and tallied double-digit scoring in 18 of his 19 games. He led the GNAC in free throw shooting (93.3 percent), was sixth in scoring and eighth in both assists (4.0 per game) and field goal percentage (.514).

McGill is the third Seawolves’ player in as many years to sign with a ProB Bundesliga team following graduation. Guards Kyle Fossman (2014) and Travis Thompson (2015) each played with the Frankfurt Skyliners in their respective rookie seasons.
