PORTLAND, Ore. – GNAC Insider returned Tuesday at 7 p.m. (PT) as the fall sports season has hit the ground running.

Highlighting the show was Rikki Myers, a junior forward on the Northwest Nazarene women’s soccer team. Last week, Myers broke a GNAC record by scoring four goals in the Nighthawks' 6-2 victory over Cal State East Bay. Myers scored a total of five goals in two matches and racked up 10 points on her way to being named the GNAC Offensive Player of the Week.

Following Myers’ lead, NNU won its third straight game and improved to 3-1-0 on the season. The Nighthawks received GNAC Team of the Week honors.

Serving as Simon Fraser’s senior director of athletics and recreation since 2015, Theresa Hanson joined the show on behalf of Canada’s NCAA team.

Construction on a new stadium for Simon Fraser football, soccer and track and field is underway. Hanson shared updates on the renovation as well as discussed fall sports and the growing culture around the SFU Clan, Canada’s only NCAA team.

GNAC Insider was also joined by redshirt junior Curtis Anderson, a defensive back on the Western Oregon football team. Anderson was a First Team All-GNAC selection in 2018 and finished the season fifth in the GNAC with three interceptions. Anderson has eight solo tackles and 13 total tackles in the Wolves’ first two games this season. He also leads the GNAC with 141 kick return yards.
