LA MIRADA, Calif. – A week removed from receiving First Team All-GNAC honors and playing in the GNAC Championships final, three conference women’s basketball players have been selected to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-West Region Team.

Alaska Anchorage senior forward Hannah Wandersee was named to the all-region first team, the only GNAC player so honored. Northwest Nazarene junior guard Avery Albrecht and senior forward Ellie Logan earned second team selections.

For Wandersee, who was named the GNAC Player of the Year last week, this is her second D2CCA All-West Region Team selection. She enters the NCAA West Region averaging 14.5 points per game, which ranks fifth in the GNAC, to go along with 5.2 rebounds per contest. During the GNAC Championships, Wandersee led the Seawolves with 21 points and seven rebounds in the semifinal win over Central Washington on Mar. 8 and scored 13 in the finals loss to Northwest Nazarene on Mar. 9.

Albrecht was the prime mover behind Northwest Nazarene’s offense the entire season, leading the Nighthawks and ranking seventh in the GNAC with 13.7 points per game. The top free thrower shooter in the league, Albrecht enters the West Regional ranked fourth in Division II at 91.9 percent. She led the Nighthawks with 18 points in their GNAC Championships semifinal win over Western Washington.

Logan, who was named the GNAC Championships MVP, has been a steady presence for Northwest Nazarene all season long with averages of 11.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. The senior finished with 13 points and seven rebounds in the semifinals win over Western Washington and led the Nighthawks with 15 points and eight rebounds against Alaska Anchorage.
