SUGAR GROVE, Ill. – Simon Fraser golfer Chris Crisologo was named NCAA PING First-Team All-American by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), marking the first time a Clan golfer has been named to the first team.

Crisologo was a third-team selection last year after being named to the All-America Second Team as a freshman in 2015.

The 2017 PING First-Team All-America honorees for Division II were announced by the GCAA following the stroke-play portion of the NCAA Division II Championships.

The 2017 First-Team All-Americans included Crisologo, Chandler Blanchet of West Florida, John Coultas and John VanDerLaan of Florida Southern, Nicolas Herrera of BYU-Hawaii, Nova Southeastern’s Richard Mansell, Colin Prater of CU-Colorado Springs, and Barry’s Niclas Weiland.

Earlier in the week, Crisologo was named to the Division II PING All-Region West team for the third straight year.

Crisologo won four individual titles this season and was named Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year and All-Conference First Team for the second consecutive year.

Crisologo put together his most dominant season to date, finishing in the top 10 at seven of 10 tournaments. He averaged 71.07 strokes per round and carded scores under par in 19 of 28 rounds.

The junior from Richmond finished in a tie for 11th place at the Brookside Country Club in the NCAA Division II West/South Central Super Regional. Crisologo shot rounds of 68, 71 and 70 to finish at -7 overall at the 6,777-yard par-72 course at Regionals.
