PORTLAND, Ore. – A total of 13 three-time honorees and 14 student-athletes with a 3.90 grade point average or higher lead the list of selections to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference’s 2016 Women’s Soccer All-Academic Team.

A total of 82 student-athletes were recognized on the squad, which singles out rostered players of sophomore standing or higher with a minimum 3.20 cumulative grade points average. The 13 three-time honorees leads a parade of 44 total repeat selections to the team.

One of those 13, Saint Martin’s senior Taylor Gersch leads the list with a perfect 4.00 grade point average as a business administration major. Gersch, a defender, has started all 14 matches for the Saints this season.

Simon Fraser sophomore Carli Grosso joins Gersch in the top echelon of GPAs on the team. Grosso, a kinesiology major, has a 4.21 cumulative GPA on the Canadian system that awards a 4.33 grade poinrts for an A-plus. Grosso, a defender, has started all of the Clan’s 11 matches this season.

In total, 14 GNAC Women’s Soccer All-Academic Team selections boasts GPAs of 3.90 or better.

Those joining Gersch as three-time selections to the team include Central Washington’s Reilly Retz, Montana State Billings’ Dana Lubieniecki, Seattle Pacific’s Haley Ayers, Emma Holm, Hannah Huesers and Maddie Krauss; Simon Fraser’s Devon Kollmyer, Western Oregon’s Savannah Bogan, Taylor Higa and Machaela Rapozo; and Western Washington’s Elise Aylward and Becca Cates.

Seattle Pacific leads all GNAC teams with 18 honorees, which accounts for nearly 67 percent of the Falcons’ entire roster, 10 which are repeat selections. Central Washington finished with 14 honorees, 11 of which are repeat selections.
