BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Former Western Washington University basketball player Anye Turner has signed a one-year contract to play for Telekom Baskets Bonn in the German Basketball League for the 2016-17 season.

Turner (Olympia, WA/Black Hills/South Puget Sound CC) was a three-year player for the Vikings from 2012-2015. In 89 games with the Vikings (55 starts) the 6-7 forward averaged 7.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.87 blocks per game. As a senior in 2014-15 he was named a first-team Great Northwest Athletic Conference All-Star averaging 10.4 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game. He ended his WWU career ranking 3rd in blocked shots (166) and 12th in rebounds (530).

"We have Anye observed for some time and have a very accurate picture of how it will help us with his energetic style of play," said Telkom Baskets Bonn head coach Thomas Adelt. "He brings a lot of energy and positive emotions to the court, what the entire team drives."

Turner, 23, graduated in early June from WWU with a degree in Biology.
