Campbell, Wilkerson Earn D2CCA All-American Honors

ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Junior first baseman Kailyn Campbell and senior catcher Austin Wilkerson were both named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-America Softball Team Tuesday afternoon.
 
Wilkerson and Campbell helped lead the Central Washington University softball team to its best record in school history and became the first GNAC school to advance to the NCAA Division II West Super Regionals.
 
"We had a fantastic season and these two played a very important role," CWU Head Coach Mike Larabee said.  "This is a great accomplishment for two outstanding athletes who really put in the work throughout the season to make themselves and our team at a whole better."
 
Campbell led the Wildcats with a .446 batting average and 95 hits.  She also drove in 47 runs with 26 extra-base hits, including 17 doubles and 47 RBI.  Campbell also became the school's all-time leader in runs batted in, standing at 140 after season's end.  She also tied the record for most career hits with 206.
 
Wilkerson hit .395 with a team leading 55 RBI and 10 home runs.  She totaled 18 doubles on the season, which set a new school record.  She also had the second best stolen base against percentage in school history at .481.
 
Both players were named as unanimous choices on the All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference Team and earned NFCA All-Region selections.
 
Campbell and Wilkerson were nominated on the D2CCA national ballot after being selected as first-team all region athletes.
