PORTLAND, Ore. – Even after another year, Saint Martin’s senior Jennifer Liedes and Western Washington’s sophomore Jenn Paul cannot be separated in the discussion of the GNAC’s women’s golfers.

Liedes and Paul were selected by the conference coaches as the GNAC Women’s Golf co-Player’s of the Year for the second straight season. The pair led the GNAC with the top-two average round scores and combined for three individual titles and 12 top-10 finishes this season.

Liedes’ season included medalist honors at two tournaments and placing second at the GNAC Championships after a playoff. She is second in the conference with a 76.6 average round score and will continue her season at the NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Super West Regionals as an individual. Liedes also became a three-time First Team All-GNAC selection.

Paul leads the GNAC for the second consecutive season in average round score at 75.2 in 16 rounds. She placed in the top-10 in seven of her eight tournaments and took medalist honors once. She tied for third place at the GNAC Championships with a score of 153 and will compete at regionals with the rest of her team.

After grabbing its first GNAC Women’s Golf Championships title, Simon Fraser reeled in two postseason awards. Emily Leung was named Freshman of the Year and head coach John Buchanan was selected Coach of the Year.

Leung ranked third in the conference with an average round score of 77.1. One of the highlights of the golf season was when Leung was the medalist at the Saint Martin’s Invitational on Oct. 9 and 10, the first tournament of her collegiate career.

Buchanan led the Clan to their first ever GNAC title, shooting a tournament record 617 to finish with an eight-stroke victory. He led one of the youngest teams in the conference, which featured two sophomores and three freshmen competing at the tournament.

Western Washington led all teams with five golfers on the all-conference team and four selected first team. Senior Kristen Hansen was named First Team All-GNAC for the fourth consecutive year. Simon Fraser placed three on the all-conference squad led by Leung and GNAC tournament champion Michelle Waters.
