MONMOUTH, Ore. – Great Northwest Athletic Conference associate commissioner Bridget Johnson Tetteh will be among six inductees in the 2015 class of the Western Oregon University Athletic Hall of Fame.

Western Oregon will recognize Tetteh and the Hall of Fame class on Fri., Jan. 26. A reception will take place at 5:30 p.m., in the Pacific Room in the Werner University Center in Monmouth, which will be followed by dinner and the induction ceremony at 6 p.m.

Tetteh was a standout track and field athlete for the Wolves. The 2005 and 2006 GNAC champion in the heptathlon and a two-time NCAA Division II All-American, Tetteh holds the Western Oregon record in the event with a total of 5,080 points. In addition, Tetteh was the 2006 GNAC champion in the 100-meter hurdles and was a member of the Wolves’ GNAC champion 1,600-meter relay team and competed twice at the NCAA Championships in the javelin.

Tetteh was a two-time GNAC Academic All-Conference selection and was named Western Oregon’s 2006 Student-Athlete of the Year. She is the all-time leading scorer at the GNAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships with 115 points.

After graduation, Tetteh spent two years coaching at her alma mater before spending four years as the associate head coach for the track and field and cross country teams at Division III Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore. She joined the GNAC office in 2012 as assistant commissioner and was promoted to associate commissioner in 2015. Her primary duties at the GNAC are NCAA compliance and championships administration.

Tetteh’s work has included two years on the NCAA Division II Volleyball Regional Advisory Committee and work as a NCAA site representative for women’s basketball and volleyball. She also oversees the GNAC’s “Women In Sports” seminar, which has provided over 250 high school and college-aged women networking and educational opportunities for sports-related careers.

Tetteh is a 2006 graduate of Western Oregon with a degree in health promotion. She earned a master’s degree in education from WOU in 2008.
