PORTLAND, Ore. – Guards Suzanna Ohlsen of Seattle Pacific and Travis Thompson of Alaska Anchorage have been selected to the NCAA Division II Capital One Academic All-America teams by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Ohlsen, who majors in biochemistry and has a perfect 4.00 GPA, was a first team selection and was selected the Academic All-America of the Year.

Ohlsen is just the second woman in GNAC history to earn first team honors on the women’s basketball academic team.  She joins Martina Kartikova of Saint Martin’s who earned first team honors in 2005.

She is the first women’s basketball player to earn academic honors twice after earning third team honors a year ago.

Ohlsen has led the Falcons to a 20-4 record this winter, averaging 18.1 points per game.  She is also the team leader in assists with 87.

Thompson was selected to the third team.  He is a civil engineering major and has a 3.47 GPA.

Thompson is averaging 17.3 points per game this winter, leading the Seawolves to a 14-12 record.  He has made 79 of 177 three-point shots and is now the GNAC all-time leader in three-pointers made converting on 295.
