PORTLAND, Ore. – Zero. That’s how many goals opponents have scored against Western Washington in its three regular season games this year.

Teams have been struggling to get through last year’s GNAC Defensive Player of the Year Brianna Jones (D, 5-8, Sr., Bonney Lake, WA) and senior Katherine Miccile (D, 5-5, Sr., Kent, WA) to even reach the goal.

Western Washington also leads the conference in scoring with all four of its goals coming in the second half of its games.

Seattle Pacific moved up one spot in the NSCAA Top 25 poll this week after a 2-1 win last week against UC San Diego.

The Falcons suffered their first defeat on Wednesday, however, giving up a second-half goal to Chico State in the 1-0 loss.

Montana State Billings is the only other undefeated team in the conference after defeating the University of Mary 2-1 in its opening match.

MSUB is second in the conference in points, goals and assists.

With a 1-0 win against BYU–Hawaii on Tuesday, Western Oregon became the fourth conference team to earn a win.

Northwest Nazarene and Saint Martin’s went 0-1-1 in the first week of the season.

Saints senior Sasha Dini (M, 5-9, Sr., Tacoma, WA) recorded her 16th point in an SMU uniform by scoring SMU's only goal of the season so far.

Crusaders goalkeeper Daniele Ortiz (GK, 5-8, Fr., Sunnyvale, CA) earned GNAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after stopping 13 shots in her first two collegiate matches.

Simon Fraser and Central Washington had a few hard losses last week but look to rebound before conference play begins.
