PORTLAND, Ore. – GNAC Insider returned Tuesday at 7 p.m. (PT) in the midst of championships season. Among the episode’s guests were two of the conference’s top fall student-athletes and the coach of a women’s soccer team that will compete for a GNAC title on its home field.

Leading off the episode was Bethany Danner, a senior on the Northwest Nazarene women’s cross country team. The Nighthawks shook things up when they placed second at the NCAA Division II West Region Championships on Saturday at Western Oregon’s Ash Creek Preserve. Danner earned All-West Region honors after finishing in 21st place in a time of 21:17.9.

With the second-place finish, the Nighthawks snagged one of the region’s automatic qualifying spots in the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships on Nov. 23 at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex in Sacramento, California.

A key player in Western Washington’s 2019 GNAC men’s soccer title campaign, junior midfielder Drew Farnsworth joined the show. Farnsworth scored four goals and distributed two assists to total 10 points this season. The Vikings clinched the GNAC title with a 1-0 win over Montana State Billings in Bellingham on Saturday.

In his fifth season as head coach of the Seattle Pacific women’s soccer team, Arby Busey also joined the show. The Falcons finished the regular season with an 11-7-0 (9-3-0 GNAC) record and clinched the No. 2 seed in this week’s GNAC Women’s Soccer Championships. The tournament will take place on Nov. 14 and 16 at Seattle Pacific’s Interbay Stadium.
