Clan Places Four Players In Top-10 At Dixie State Invitational

PORTLAND, Ore. – Four of the GNAC’s women’s golf teams were in action this week, competing at the Dixie State Fall Invitational on Monday and Tuesday in Hurricane, Utah.

Simon Fraser led the way for the GNAC, finishing in second place in the team standings with a total score of 584 over the two-day tournament. The Clan placed four golfers in the top-10 of the individual leaderboard.

Senior Emily Leung paced the Clan in second place, finishing with a score of 71 in both rounds to finish at 2-under-par 142. Freshman Frida Ehnebom and senior Jaya Rampuri tied for seventh place with scores of 3-over-par 147, and freshman Claire Lovan rounded out the Clan’s scoring players with a tie for ninth place with a score of 4-over-par 148.

Concordia’s Cammie Decker also impressed at the Dixie State Fall Invitational. She led the Cavs with a score of 5-over-par 149 to tie for 11th place.

Montana State Billings also competed in the RJGA Shootout at Estrella in Goodyear, Arizona, from Sept. 23-24. The Yellowjackets tied for 15th in the team standings with a score of 662.

AROUND THE GNAC
CONCORDIA
• Concordia finished in eight in the team standings at the Dixie State Fall Invitational, finishing with a team score of 626.

• Senior Cammie Decker led the way for the Cavs, finishing tied for 11th place with a score of 5-over-par 149.

• Freshman Jae Eun Park finished tied for 16th with a score of 7-over-par 151.

• Up next, the Cavs will host the Concordia Invitational at the Riverside Golf and Country Club in Portland, Oregon. The tournament will run from Oct. 7-8.

MONTANA STATE BILLINGS
• Montana State Billings finished tied for 15th at the RJGA Shootout at Estrella, finishing with a team score of 662. The Yellowjackets followed that with a 14th place finish at the Dixie State Fall Invitational, finishing with a score of 676.

• Sophomore Avery Gill had the best individual performance in the RJGA Shootout at Estrella, finishing tied for 57th with a score of 162.

• Sophomore Tierney Messmer had the best individual performance at the Dixie State Fall Invitational. She finished tied for 55th with a score of 165.

• Up next, the Yellowjackets will compete at the Concordia Invitational from Oct. 7-8 in Portland, Oregon.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE
• Northwest Nazarene finished in 12th place at the Dixie State Fall Invitational with a team score of 644.

• The top individual performance for the Nighthawks came from sophomore Taylor Entenman, who finished tied for 36th with a score of 157.

• Junior Trinity McCarthy finished a stroke behind Entenman, finishing tied for 40th place with a score of 158.

• Up next, Northwest Nazarene will compete at the Saint Martin’s Invitational from Oct. 4-5 in Olympia, Washington. The Nighthawks will then head to Portland, Oregon, for the Concordia Invitational from Oct. 7-8.

SAINT MARTIN’S
• Saint Martin’s did not compete at the Dixie State Fall Invitational.

• The Saints will open their season when they host the Saint Martin’s Invitational at the Olympia Golf and Country Club in Olympia, Washington. The tournament will run from Oct. 4-5.

• Following the Saint Martin’s Invitational, the Saints will head down to Portland, Oregon, to compete at the Concordia Invitational. The tournament will run from Oct. 7-8.

SIMON FRASER
• Simon Fraser finished in second place in the team standings at the Dixie State Fall Invitational. The Clan scored a 292 in both rounds to finish with an overall score of 584, 14 strokes ahead of third-place Holy Names and just two strokes behind winner Cal State San Marcos.

• The Clan placed all four of its scoring players in the top-10.

• Senior Emily Leung had the best finish of any GNAC player in the tournament, finishing in second place with a score of 2-under-par 142.

• Freshman Frida Ehnebom and senior Jaya Rampuri tied for seventh place with scores of 3-over-par 147, and freshman Claire Lovan tied for ninth place with a score of 4-over-par 148.

• Up next, the Clan will compete at the Concordia Invitational from Oct. 7-8 in Portland, Oregon.

WESTERN WASHINGTON
• Western Washington did not compete at the Dixie State Fall Invitational.

• Up next, the Vikings will compete at the Concordia Invitational from Oct. 7-8 in Portland, Oregon.
