PORTLAND  – In the 97th episode of GNAC Insider NCAA Women’s Basketball Vice President Anucha Browne joined the show along with Central Washington women’s soccer defender Allie Bohnett and Simon Fraser men’s soccer goalkeeper Brandon Watson, airing live, hosted by Rob Lowery, at 7 p.m. Pacific on Tuesday night.

Browne recently made a trip to Alaska Anchorage to see its women’s basketball team after the Seawolves’ run to the final last year. Browne, who played in the first NCAA women’s basketball championship, was an executive with the New York Knicks before becoming the NCAA Vice President of Women’s Basketball in August 2012. As a student-athlete at Northwestern University, Browne was Northwestern University’s first All-American and set 24 school records. She also was the first player in the nation to score at least 30 points in six consecutive games in her senior season.

Bohnett joined the show after helping lead the Wildcats to the best start in program history, winning their first five matches. She was part of a defensive line that has allowed just two goals in those five matches. That winning streak came to an end on Saturday when No. 6 UC San Diego defeated the Wildcats 2-1 in overtime, but Central Washington will look to start a new winning streak with conference play beginning this week. On Thursday, Central Washington will host Simon Fraser before a crucial duel at Seattle Pacific on Saturday.

Watson is putting together one of the more impressive goalkeeping careers in GNAC history. The senior already holds the record for shutouts in conference matches with 19 and also ranks fourth all-time in goals against average at 0.76. Meanwhile, he is also leading the team in its pursuit of history. His three shutouts to open the season helped the team boost its winning streak to 11 matches dating back to last season. The Clan needs just five more wins to tie the all-time GNAC record for winning streak. The Clan will face a tough test, however, on Thursday when it takes on defending champion Seattle Pacific. The two teams split their meetings last year.
