PORTLAND, Ore. - Great performances by guards Suzanna Ohlsen of Seattle Pacific and Taylor Peacocke of Western Washington at the West Region Crossover Classic in Bellingham have earned the two players GNAC Co-Player of the Week honors for women's basketball.

Ruben Silvas of Alaska earned the GNAC Player of the Week for men's basketball.

Following are the accomplishments of Ohlsen, Peacocke and Silvas and a listing of honorable mention selections:

Women's Basketball - Suzanna Ohlsen, Seattle Pacific (G, 5-7, Sr., Monroe, WA - Monroe) and Taylor Peacocke, Western Washington (G, 5-9, So.,Kenmore, WA – Sacramento State) ... Ohlsen scored 38 points and also had 11 rebounds and 10 assists in leading the Falcons to two victories and earning MVP honors in the West Region Crossover Classic in Bellingham.  She had 15 points, six assists and five steals in a 71-66 win over UC San Diego Friday before leading the Falcons to a 77-65 win over previously unbeaten Azusa Pacific with 23 points, nine rebounds and two blocks, tying her career high in the latter two categories ... Peacocke had 27 points and 17 rebounds in a 79-74 loss to APU, then added 16 points and seven rebounds in a 80-77 overtime win over UC San Diego, finishing the tournament with 43 points,24 rebounds, six assists and six steals.

Honorable Mention – Benissa Bulaya, Alaska (G, 5-6, Sr., Sacramento, CA – El Camino Fundamental); Kiki Robertson, Alaska Anchorage (G, 5-7, So., Honolulu, HI – Mid-Pacific); Jasmin Edwards, Central Washington (G, 5-5, Fr., Lynnwood, WA - Lynnwood); Kayleen Goggins, Montana State Billings (F, 6-1, Sr., Shepherd, MT - Shepherd); Lexi Tubbs, Northwest Nazarene (G, 5-11, Fr., Turlock, CA – Modesto Christian); Krista Stabler, Saint Martin’s (G, 5-6, Jr., Silverdale, WA – Central Kitsap); Dana Goularte, Western Oregon (F, 6-0, Sr., Port Orchard, WA – South Kitsap).

Men’s Basketball - Ruben Silvas, Alaska (G, 6-3, 175, Jr., Tucson, AZ) had 33 points, shooting 62.5 percent (15-of-24) as the Nanooks made their 2014-15 season debut in the GCI Alaska Invitational.  The JC transfer from Arizona also had 16 rebounds, two assists and a steal and wasn’t charged with a turnover in earning all-tournament honors as the Nanooks won one of three contests.

Honorable Mention -  Austin Hudson, Montana State Billings (F, 6-7, Sr., Salt Lake City, UT – Central Wyoming); Mike Wright, NNU (G, 6-1, Jr., Burlington, Ontario – U. of Waterloo); Trey Ingram, Saint Martin’s (G, 6-1, Fr., Scottsdale, AZ – Pinnacle); Corey Hutsen, Seattle Pacific (C, 6-8, Sr., Sammamish, WA - Skyline); Sango Niang, Simon Fraser (G, 6-0, Sr., Paris, France – Chaffey CC); Jaamon Echols, Western Washington (G, 6-0, Jr., Seattle, WA – Rainier Beach).
