PORTLAND, Ore. – The fifth episode of GNAC Insider, the show updating you about everything that is going on with the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, can now be found on iTunes.

Guests included Jennifer Johnson of the Simon Fraser women’s cross country team, Julia Mackey of the University of Alaska Anchorage’s volleyball team, and Victor Santa Cruz, head football coach of Azusa Pacific.

Johnson is a graduate student and in her last year of eligibility for the Clan. She recently placed 67th at the Stanford Invitational where the team took second out of the Division II competitors. Johnson also finished in seventh at the University of Washington Sundodger Invitational a few weeks ago to help her team finish in second. On Tuesday's episode Johnson talked about how she ended up at Simon Fraser and how she is affected by having her dad, Western Oregon cross country coach Mike Johnson, part of the conference she's competing in.

Mackey is in her third year as a right side hitter at Alaska Anchorage. The Seawolves recently took over first place in the GNAC with two wins last week. Mackey earned co-offensive GNAC Player of the Week honors for her efforts with 24 kills and a .340 hitting percentage. Mackey discussed her playing in Anchorage and talked about playing at the new Alaska Airlines Center.

Santa Cruz is in his ninth season coaching the Cougars. APU holds a 4-1 record heading into its second conference game against Humboldt State, which dealt the Cougars their only loss of the season three weeks ago. Santa Cruz discussed this upcoming matchup on Tuesday's show.

GNAC Insider airs live at 7 p.m. Pacific time every Tuesday and is produced by the conference office. All episodes become available as free podcasts via iTunes, and for archived listening via GNAC.TV.
