PORTLAND, Ore. - A historic rebound performance has helped Austin Hudson of Montana State Billings earn Red Lion GNAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors.

Hudson had 47 points and 32 rebounds as the Yellowjackets split two games in Alaska last weekend in Alaska. 

Hudson had 22 rebounds, including 13 at the offensive end in Thursday's game at Alaska Fairbanks.  The 22 rebounds is the second most in GNAC history and the 13 caroms off the offensive glass is an all-time GNAC record.

Hudson was one of 11 GNAC athletes to earn Red Lion honors for the Week of Feb. 3-9.

Men’s Basketball: Austin Hudson, MSU Billings (F, 6-7, Jr., Salt Lake City, UT – Central Wyoming) scored 47 points and had 32 rebounds as the Yellowjackets split two games, earning their first win at Anchorage since 1998.  Hudson scored 24 points and had 22 rebounds, including a GNAC record 13 offensive caroms, in a 88-74 loss Thursday at Alaska Fairbanks.  He then led MSUB to a 75-62 win against Alaska Anchorage scoring 23 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.  In the two games, Hudson made 20 of 32 shots (62.5 percent) and also had four assists, four steals and two blocks.  Half of his 32 rebounds came off the offensive glass.   His 22 rebounds at UAF equals the second highest individual single-game total in GNAC history. 

Honorable Mention – Mitch Penner, Seattle Pacific (F, 6-5, So., Seattle, WA – Kennedy); Richard Woodworth, Western Washington (G, 6-3, Sr., Bellevue, WA – Newport);  Mario Donaldson, Northwest Nazarene (G, Sr., Rockton, IL); Evan Coulter, Saint Martin’s (G, 5-10, Sr., Mount Vernon, WA – Whatcom CC); Andy Avgi, Western Oregon (F, 6-6, So., Woodburn, OR).

Women’s Basketball: Chelsea Haskey, Saint Martin's (F, 6-1, Sr., Olympia, WA - Black Hills) scored 28 points and also had 12 rebounds, four steals and a pair of blocks leading the Saints to home wins over Alaska Anchorage and Alaska Fairbanks.  She had 13 points, five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and three steals in Thursday’s 56-46 win over UAA.  On Saturday, she netted 15 points and also had seven rebounds to key a 67-66 win over UAF.

Honorable Mention -  Erin Chambers, Simon Fraser (G/F, 6-1, Jr., Mission, BC - Heritage Park); Dana Goularte, Western Oregon (F, 6-0, Jr., Port Orchard, WA - South Kitsap); Katie Colard, Western Washington (G, 5-9, Jr., McCleary, WA - Elma); Chelsie Luke, Northwest Nazarene (G, 5-9, Sr., Meridian, ID).

Baseball: Player - Daniel McNabb, Western Oregon (OF, 5-11, Sr., Pasadena, CA - Rancho Cucamonga) had seven hits in 13 at bats and produced a total of 10 runs, scoring three and driving in seven,  as the Wolves won three of four games including two over nationally-ranked Cal State Monterey Bay.  Pitcher - Andrew Groves, Northwest Nazarene (5-11, Jr., Mukilteo, WA - Kamiak) pitched four scoreless innings in relief – the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th - in a 3-2, 11-inning loss at Hawaii Pacific Saturday.  Groves, who allowed just two hits, walked two and fanned four. 

Honorable Mention - Ryan Johnson, Northwest Nazarene (OF, 6-1, Jr., Boise, ID - Treasure Valley CC); Kody Stone, Western Oregon (P, 5-11, Sr., Tacoma, WA – Everett CC).

Softball:    Player –  Kelsie Gardner, Western Oregon (1B, 5-8, Fr., Salem, OR – South Salem) and Brianna Kinghorn, Northwest Nazarene (1B, 5-6, Jr., Meridian, ID - Mountain View) ... Gardner had nine hits, including a pair of home runs, in 19 at bats and drove in nine runs as the Wolves averaged nearly nine runs a game in posting a 2-3 record in the  MSUB Desert Stinger in Las Vegas.  Gardner also had a pair of doubles and scored six runs.  Kinghorn batted .407 (11-of-27), hit four home runs and drove in 12 runs as the Crusaders won four of nine games, including three of four in a series at Menlo.   Pitcher – Kiana Wood, Central Washington (5-6, Fr., Aloha, OR) allowed just two runs in 24 2/3 innings, in winning three games including shutouts over Minot State (3-0) and Western New Mexico (5-0).  Wood allowed 20 hits – only one against Minot (a two-out single in the first inning) - and walked five, while fanning 20 batters.  Both of the runs she allowed came on solo home runs. 

Honorable Mention – Jill McDaniels, Central Washington (2B, 5-8, Sr., Walla Walla, WA – WWCC).

Men’s Track & Field: Track – Frank Krause, Saint Martin’s (Jr., Onalaska, WA) finished second in the 800 meters at the Idaho Vandal Indoor Friday in a provisional national qualifying time of 1:52.04.  The time ranks 12th nationally among NCAA Division II  and sixth all-time in GNAC history.  On Saturday, he finished fourth in the 400 meters at the Idaho Open in a time of 50.61, breaking a 12-year old SMU school record. Field – Kevin Stanley, Central Washington (Jr., Spokane Valley, WA – Central Valley) was the top collegian in the weight throw Saturday at Idaho finishing third with a provisional national qualifying mark of 59-2 ¾.  That ranks fourth in GNAC history.  Honorable Mention -  Kyle McLaughlin, Northwest Nazarene (So., Meridian, ID).

Women’s Track & Field: Track – Marie Smith, Northwest Nazarene (Sr., Boise, ID - Capital) finished second in the 60 hurdles at the Bronco Invitational in Nampa with a provisional national qualifying time of 8.87.  That time is a school record and ranks sixth in GNAC history.  Field – Alison Silva, Northwest Nazarene (Fr.,Nampa, ID) pole vaulted a provisional national qualifying 12-5 ½ for the second week in a row to finish third at the Bronco Invitational.  That height ranks fourth on the GNAC Top 10 all-time list. 

Honorable Mention – Angel Rodgers, Saint Martin’s (Jr., Everett, WA).
