PORTLAND, Ore. - Bobbi Knudsen of Montana State Billings and Andy Avgi of Western Oregon are the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Red Lion Women's and Men's Basketball Players of the Week for their performances during the Week of Nov. 19-25, 2012.  

Women's Basketball

Bobbi Knudsen, Montana State Billings (G, 5-8, Jr., Malta, MT) scored 44 points to lead the Yellowjackets to a pair wins in the MSUB Yellowjacket Classic.  Knudsen, who was selected as the tournament MVP as well as the Red Lion Player of the Week, scored a career and GNAC season-high 33 points in a 91-87 overtime win over Dixie State Friday, then had 11 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in a 80-44 win over Notre Dame de Namur.  She played just 24 minutes in the latter contest.  Honorable Mention – Megan Hingston, Northwest Nazarene; Trishi Williams, Western Washington; Brooke Paulson, Saint Martin’s; Dana Goularte, Western Oregon.

Men's Basketball

Andy Avgi, Western Oregon (F, 6-5, 260, Fr., Woodburn, OR) scored 52 points and also had 15 rebounds in earning MVP honors and Red Lion honors in the Capital City Classic.  Avgi, who leads the GNAC in field goal percentage shooting 71.0 percent (44 of 62), made 20 of 25 shots (including 10 of 11 against Corban), including his only three-pointer.  He also blocked two shots and had three steals.  Honorable Mention – John Allen, Western Washington; Jon Hawkins, Northwest Nazarene.
