PORTLAND, Ore. -- The latest episode of GNAC Insider, a regular podcast featuring updates on the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, is now available.

Episode highlights:  

  • Western Washington and Central Washington are headed to the NCAA West Regional in volleyball, and head coaches Diane Flick of WWU and Mario Andaya of CWU talk about the upcoming championships, which begin Nov. 29.
     
  • University of Alaska Anchorage is coming off a tremendous showing at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, as the men's team placed third and the women's team sixth. Head coach Michael Friess talks about the Seawolves' special day, which included an individual title by Micah Chelimo and a runner-up finish by Susan Tanui.
     
  • Simon Fraser University's men's soccer team is moving closer to an NCAA title. The Clan posted three one-goal victories in a recent eight-day span to earn a spot in the Final Four, which will be held Nov. 29-Dec. 1 just outside Augusta, Ga. Head coach Alan Koch and athletic director Milt Richards talk about SFU's tournament run.
     
  • Alaska Fairbanks men's basketball coach Mick Durham talks about the Nanooks, who earned GNAC Team of the Week honors following a tournament championship in their own invitational.
     
  • It's Great Alaska Shootout week in Anchorage. The nation's longest running regular season men's college basketball tournament features eight teams, including host UAA. Coach Rusty Osborne talks about UAA's opening opponent.

Each GNAC Insider includes a roundup of conference activities and events, as well as interviews with conference newsmakers. You can listen to GNAC Insider by navigating to http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/gnac.portal and following these steps:

1. Find Event

After navigating to the above link, select the green "ON DEMAND" tab and identify the GNAC Insider you wish to listen to from the list located on the right side of the page. The list is sorted by date, with recent GNAC Insider podcasts located at the top.

2. Click to Listen

Once you choose a GNAC Insider, click the "LISTEN" link, located to the right of the GNAC Insider description. The GNAC Insider podcast will begin streaming within a few seconds.
