197 Earn ADA Academic Achievement Award

PORTLAND, Ore. - One hundred ninety-seven Great Northwest Athletic Conference athletes are recipients of the Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2ADA) Academic Achievement award.

The Academic Achievement Awards is a program that recognizes the academic accomplishments of student-athletes at the Division 2 level.

A record number of institutions (118) and student-athletes (4,492) are being recognized for the 2011-12 Academic Achievement Awards.

GNAC athletes recognized included 46 from Western Washington, 41 from Northwest Nazarene, 38 from Seattle Pacific, 32 from Central Washington, 29 from Montana State Billings and 11 from Simon Fraser.

To qualify for the award, athletes must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, have attended a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college level work and been an active member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year.
