Week of Aug. 29-Sept. 4: Offense – Mike Proulx, Humboldt State (QB, 5-11, 203, Sr., Castro Valley, CA) and Bo Palmer, Simon Fraser (RB, 5-9, 185, Jr., North Vancouver, BC – Windsor) – Proulx threw for 366 yards – the second-highest total in his career – to lead the Lumberjacks to a 29-3 win over Colorado Mesa. Proulx, who had 376 yards in total offense, completed 21 of 35 passes and wasn't intercepted, while throwing a pair of short touchdown passes. Palmer netted 181 yards on 15 rushes, scoring on runs of 23 yards in the first quarter and 72 yards in the second period. His latter score put the Clan up 23-21 on the way to a 36-28 victory. Palmer also caught three passes for 11 yards. Defense – Cache Morgan, Dixie State (DB, 5-11, 190 Jr., West Jordan, UT – Utah State) had a game-high 17 tackles, including nine solos. One of his tackles was for a 16-yard loss. He also returned a kickoff a GNAC-record 100 yards for the Red Storm's first touchdown. Later he forced a fumble, which was recovered by DSC's Blake Hansen at the seven-yard line to set up Dixie's second score on the next play. Special Teams - Kevin Miles, Humboldt State (WR, 5-8, 172, Sr., Sacramento, CA – Del Campo) had 64 yards on five punt returns, including one for 30 yards. He also caught three passes for 27 yards.

Week of Sept. 5-11: Offense – Evan Mozzochi, Western Oregon (QB, 6-4, 230, Sr., Vancouver, WA – Columbia River) had 280 yards in total offense in a 35-28 road win at Simon Fraser. He rushed for 73 yards on six carries and also completed 18 of 30 passes for 207 yards. Mozzochi accounted for three touchdowns, scoring on runs of 45 and 10 yards and also tossing a 34-yard TD pass to running back Trevor Roush. Defense – Chris Peterson, Humboldt State (OLB, 5-11, 208, Jr., San Diego, CA – Helix) had 11 tackles, including a 10-yard quarterback sack in the fourth quarter after CWU had recovered a fumble at the HSU 24 forcing the Wildcats to settle for a field goal. Peterson, who broke up one pass, had eight unassisted tackles among his 11 stops. Special Teams – Brian Blumberg, Humboldt State (K, 5-6, 166, Sr., Redondo Beach, CA) kicked a 27-yard field goal as time expired and also made five of five extra points. It was the second year in a row Blumberg had kicked a game-winning field goal to beat Central Washington.
Week of Sept. 12-18: Offense – Jesse Ence, Dixie State (RB, 5-10, 210, Sr., Saint George, UT – Pine View) had 155 all-purpose yards including 76 on 15 rushes and 79 on three receptions. He also scored two touchdowns in a 42-7 win over Simon Fraser, catching a 72-yard second-quarter touchdown pass and rushing for a three-yard TD in the third quarter. Defense – Bryce Peila, Western Oregon (DB, 6-1, 200, Jr., Central Point, OR - Crater) and Scotland Foss, Western Oregon (LB, 6-3, 235, Jr., Albany, OR – West Albany). . .Both players had two takeaways as the Wolves defeated Central Washington 14-7 to end a 14-game losing streak to the Wildcats. Peila had a 50-yard interception return to set up the Wolves' second touchdown in the second quarter. He also had the first of two WOU interceptions in CWU territory in the final two minutes to protect a seven-point lead. Peila finished the contest with 79 return yards, including 70 on two interceptions and nine on one punt return. He also had four tackles, including a seven-yard quarterback sack. . .Foss sealed WOU's win with an interception at the CWU 26 with 36 seconds left. In the second quarter, he recovered a fumble at the CWU 24 to set up WOU's first touchdown. Foss also finished the contest with nine tackles. Special Teams – None selected.
Week of Sept. 19-25: Offense – Trevor Gates, Western Oregon (WR, 5-9, 185, Sr., Hillsboro, OR – Valley Catholic & Northern Arizona) caught seven passes for a career-high 163 yards and two touchdowns as the Wolves cruised to a 56-0 win over Dixie State. Gates caught a 60-yard TD pass from Evan Mozzochi on the game's first play from scrimmage and also scored the only touchdown in the third quarter on a 10-yard pass from Mozzochi. Defense – Jona Faraimo, Humboldt State (LB, 5-11, 240, Sr., Sacramento, CA – Western HS) had a game-high 11 tackles, including seven solos and two tackles for losses of five yards. He also forced a fumble in HSU's 35-7 win at Simon Fraser. Special Teams – JJ Latu, Humboldt State (WR, 5-7, 160, Fr., Long Beach, CA) returned the opening kickoff 78 yards to set up a two-play, 5-yard touchdown drive. He finished the contest, his first at the collegiate level, with 139 all-purpose yards including 90 on two kickoffs and 49 on four receptions.
Week of Sept. 26-Oct. 2: Offense – Mike Proulx, Humboldt State (QB, 5-11, 203, Sr., Castro Valley, CA) threw for 315 yards and four touchdowns in the first half alone in the Lumberjacks' 56-27 home win over Dixie State. Proulx finished the contest completing 24 of 35 passes for 361 yards. He also rushed for 51 yards on five carries to finish the game with a GNAC season-best 412 yards in total offense, an average of 10.3 yards for each of the 40 plays he participated in. Defense – Taylor Tanasse, Central Washington (DE, 6-0, 240, Sr. Yakima, WA – West Valley) increased his season total in Tackles For Losses to eight in taking over the GNAC TFL lead. He had five total tackles, including four for losses of 16 yards sparking a defense that didn't allow a touchdown until midway through the fourth quarter by which time his team had built a 37-3 lead. Special Teams – Sean Davis, Central Washington (5-11, 180, Jr., Federal Way, WA – Todd Beamer) had impressive numbers in every kicking category. He didn't miss a kick, converting four extra points and two field goals, including a 48-yarder which is the second longest this season in the GNAC. He also averaged 40.7 yards on three punts allowing only one return yard (40.4 net average). He also averaged 58.7 yards on seven kickoffs surrendering just 79 return yards for a 48.5 net average.

Week of Oct. 3-9: Offense – Stefan Cantwell, Dixie State (QB, 6-2, 220, Fr., South Jordan, UT - Bingham) had 442 yards in total offense and established two GNAC records in a 62-56 triple overtime loss at Simon Fraser. Cantwell completed 25 of 46 passes for 357 yards and five touchdowns and also rushed for 85 yards and three touchdowns. His five passing touchdowns tied a GNAC record shared by seven players. His eight rushing or passing touchdowns broke the GNAC single-game record of six held by two Central Washington quarterbacks – Zak Hill against Western Oregon in 2003 and Mike Reilly against the Wolves in 2005 and West Texas A&M in a 2008 playoff game. Defense – Jeremiah Maluia, Humboldt State (DB, 6-0, 196, So., Compton, CA) and Genesis Fonoimoana. Central Washington (DB, 6-1, 205, Jr., Long Beach, CA – Long Beach Poly). . .Maluia led the Lumberjacks with nine tackles in their 23-17 win against Football Championship Sub-Division member UC Davis. He also had an interception at the ‘Jack 33 to end a second-quarter Aggie scoring threat. Fonoimoana had several big plays to key the Wildcat defense that didn't allow a touchdown until late in the fourth quarter in a 41-10 win against Western Oregon. He recovered a fumble in the first quarter to set up a four-yard touchdown run by Levi Taylor. In the second quarter he had a 41-yard touchdown interception return to provide the Wildcats with a 27-3 halftime lead. He also had three tackles, including two for losses of 10 yards. Special Teams – Ian Sternau, Simon Fraser (K, 5-11, 185, Fr., Pasadena, CA – St. Francis) booted two field goals, including a 23-yarder with nine seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime in SFU's win against Dixie State. Sternau, who also kicked a 35-yarder in the first quarter and was six for six on extra points, averaged 41.7 yards on three punts.
Week of Oct. 10-16: Offense - Lyndon Rowells, Humboldt State (RB, 5-10, Sr., Largo, Fla. – College of the Redwoods) rushed for 223 yards and caught four passes for 41 yards accounting for more than 50 percent of Humboldt State's offense (264 of 512) in a 30-20 win at Central Washington, ending the Wildcats' 21-game conference home win streak. Rowells gave the 19th ranked 'Jacks a nine-point lead early in the third quarter, racing 67 yards to finish off a 10-play, 90-yard drive. He then scored on a one-yard run in the fourth period to give the ‘Jacks a 16-point lead. His 264 all-purpose total is the fifth highest in GNAC history and his 223 rushing total ranks third all-time. Defense – Bryce Peila, Western Oregon (DB, 6-1, 200, Jr., Central Point, OR - Crater) had 129 return yards including 90 on two interceptions, 30 on a fumble recovery and nine on a punt return to lead the Wolves to a 34-10 win against Simon Fraser. With WOU leading 20-10 in the fourth quarter, Peila's fumble return set up a 10-yard touchdown run by Kenneth Haynes with 4:54 left. Thirty-eight seconds later, Peila, who also had nine tackles, sealed the win with a 48-yard touchdown interception return. Peila leads the GNAC with six interceptions for 195 yards. The yardage total is a GNAC single-season record, breaking the old mark of 163 by Brandon Kennedy of Central Washington in 2005. Peila has 12 career interceptions for 303 yards, which is 70 shy of Kennedy's career GNAC record. "Peila's two picks were very crucial plays," Western Oregon head football coach Arne Ferguson said. "They really put the game away." Special Teams – Jameson Schultz, Dixie State (K, 6-1, 175, Jr., Yucaipa, CA – Mt. San Jacinto) kicked four first-half field goals, three of distances of 40 or more yards, to account for all of the Red Storm first-half points in a 48-19 loss to Azusa Pacific. Schultz connected from 42, 32, 42 and 45 yards and also added a 13 th point on a PAT in the fourth quarter. His four field goals equals the GNAC single-game record shared by three other players including NFL veteran Michael Koenen of Western Washington.

Week of Oct. 17-23: Offense – Armahd Lewis, Central Washington (WR, 5-9, 178, Sr., Stockton, CA – Edison) scored on touchdown catches of 63 and 75 yards and also helped set up two other scores with lengthy kickoff returns as the Wildcats defeated Dixie State 31-24. Lewis had 220 all-purpose yards, including two receptions for 138 yards and three kickoff returns for 92 yards. His reception yardage is a GNAC single-game record for players with just two receptions. He had kickoff returns of 42 yards and 30 yards to set up a field goal and a touchdown after Dixie twice had pulled to within eight points in the second half. Defense - Isaiah Buchanan, Western Oregon (DB, 5-10, 175, Sr., Portland, OR - Grant) had eight tackles, including a game-high seven solos, as the Wolves knocked off 15 th ranked Humboldt State 40-24. Buchanan also forced a fumble and had a pass interception. Special Teams – Kelly Morgan, Western Oregon (K, 5-10, Sherwood, OR) tied the GNAC single-game record for most field goals made (4) and set a record for most field goals attempted (6). Morgan, who connected from 37, 30, 27 and 35 yards, also converted on four extra points to tie the GNAC single-game record for most points by a kicker of 16. He also averaged 57.7 yards on nine kickoffs, allowing an average of just 15.2 yards per return.
Week of Oct. 24-30: Offense – Victor Spencer, Humboldt State (WR, 5-10, 170, Jr., Sacramento, CA – Sacramento City JC) caught seven passes for 140 yards, including a 46-yarder down to the one-yard line to set up the Lumberjacks' third touchdown in a 42-10 win against Simon Fraser. On the season, Spencer has 33 catches for 540 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Defense - Devin Wells, Western Oregon (LB, 6-2, 255, So., Beaverton, OR – Southridge) had eight tackles, including a nine-yard quarterback sack at Dixie's four-yard line to set up a safety on the next play. Wells combined with Levi Smith for the sack, which came with the Wolves trailing 14-7 in the third quarter. Beginning with the safety, WOU scored 19 consecutive points to take control of the contest. Special Teams – Chris Campbell, Humboldt State (P, 5-10, 170, Fr., Granite Falls, CA) averaged 40.4 yards on five punts, including two inside the 20-yard line. The five punts were returned for just 10 yards.
Week of Oct. 31-Nov. 6: Offense – Lyndon Rowells, Humboldt State (RB, 5-10, 200, Sr., Largo, Fla.) rushed for 184 yards on 24 carries including a 61-yard touchdown run to lead the Lumberjacks to a 45-30 road win at Dixie State. Rowells also caught three passes for 60 yards, scoring on a 28-yard reception in the second quarter. He tied the GNAC record for most 100-yard career rushing game recording his 13 th , six of them this season. That matches the record set by Emilio Iniguez of Central Washington in 2003 and 2004 and matched by Eliot Vinzant of Western Oregon in 2005 and 2006. Defense - Adam Berger, Simon Fraser (DB, 6-0, 205, Jr., Surrey, BC – Lord Tweedsmuir) and Brendan Faubion, Humboldt State (DE, 6-1, 250, Sr., Pleasanton, CA). . .Berger had a game-changing 43-yard interception touchdown return as Simon Fraser beat Central Washington 35-24. Berger's TD gave the Clan a 28-17 lead with 5:01 remaining after it had rallied from a 17-6 fourth-quarter deficit. He also had three tackles helping the Clan hold the Wildcats to 198 passing yards and 359 in total offense. . .Faubion had seven tackles, including two for losses of 11 yards as Humboldt jumped to a 31-0 third-quarter lead against Dixie State. Faubion also had a fumble recovery. Special Teams – None selected.
Week of Nov. 7-13: Offense – Lyndon Rowells, Humboldt State (RB, 5-10, 200, Sr., Largo, Fla.) rushed for 246 yards - equaling the second highest single-game total in GNAC history - in a 37-7 win over Western Oregon as the Lumberjacks won their first-ever GNAC title and their 10 th football championship in the history of the program. Rowells set two GNAC single-game or season records and tied another in the contest. He set the conference single season rushing record finishing the regular campaign with 1,417 yards breaking the old record of 1,327 by Nat Conley of Central Washington in 2001. He also set the GNAC record for most 100-yard career rushing games (14) and tied the single-season record of seven. Defense - Jeremiah Maluia, Humboldt State (DB, 6-0, 196, So., Compton, CA) tied a GNAC record with three interceptions and also had three tackles. Maluia equaled the interception record set by HSU's Duval Seamster against Saint Mary's in 2003 and equaled by Bret Hughes of Western Oregon against Western Washington in both 2004 and 2005 and Stan Langlow of Central Washington last season against Simon Fraser. He also helped the Lumberjacks set a GNAC team record with seven. Central Washington set the old mark of six last season against Simon Fraser. Special Teams – Dominique Gaisie, Central Washington (DB, 5-9, 162, Sr., West Covina, CA – Bishop Amat Memorial/Utah State) had 60 yards on two punt returns including a 63-yarder for a touchdown to give the Wildcats an early lead in their 42-14 home win against Dixie State. Gaisie ended up leading the GNAC in both punt returns (11.3) and kickoff returns (25.1). He also had four tackles and a pass breakup in the contest.
