ARCATA, Calif. – For the second straight season Humboldt State football has a representative on the Associated Press Little All-America Team. Offensive lineman Alex Cappa was announced as a member of the second team on Dec. 16.

The junior was tabbed an American Football Coaches All-America First Team earlier in December and has received numerous postseason honors. Cappa is a three-time Great Northwest Athletic Conference Offensive Lineman of the Year and three-time unanimous All-GNAC First Team selection. Running back Ja'Quan Gardner was named to the AP Little All-America Team last year.

Cappa is the fourth GNAC player selected to the AP Little All-America Team over the last three seasons and is the 16th GNAC selection all-time.

Cappa was named the GNAC Offensive Lineman of the Year for the third consecutive year and was one of five GNAC selections to the D2CCA All-Region Team. He anchored an Lumberjacks’ offensive line that provided excellent protection for the top offense in the league. The HSU line allowed just 1.73 sacks per game.

Gardner represented the Green and Gold on the AP Little All-America First Team last season.
