PORTLAND, Ore. - Azusa Pacific fell one position to sixth and Humboldt State remained at No. 8 in this week's NCAA Super Regional III football poll released Monday.

The poll, the second of three, will eventually help determine the six teams that qualify for the regional playoffs later this month.

APU (8-1) fell despite defeating Western Oregon 19-18 last Saturday.  The win clinched the Cougars no worse than a tie for their second consecutive Great Northwest Athletic Conference title.

The two GNAC teams are among seven schools in the Top 10 all with one loss.

Three teams are still unbeaten - top-ranked Minnesota State Mankato, second-ranked Ouachita Baptist, Ark., and third-ranked Minnesota Duluth.

Two teams - Pittsburg State (4th) and Northwest Missouri (5th) - that were ranked below Azusa Pacific last week (at 6th and 7th, respectively) - leaped over the Cougars in this week's poll.

In this week's AFCA national poll, Azusa Pacific is ranked 23rd.  Humboldt State is among "others receiving votes" and is 26th overall.

APU and HSU split their two games this season accounting for their respective losses.

Super Region III (Nov. 3) - 1. Minnesota State Mankato (9-0); 2. Ouachita Baptist (8-0); 3. Minnesota Duluth (9-0); 4. Pittsburg State (8-1); 5. Northwest Missouri State (8-1); 6. Azusa Pacific (8-1); 7. Sioux Falls (8-1); 8. Humboldt State (7-1); 9. Harding (7-1); 10. Henderson State (8-1).
