PORTLAND, Ore. - Azusa Pacific is ranked fifth and Humboldt State is ranked eighth in the first of three official NCAA Super Regional III polls released Monday.

The poll will eventually help determine the six teams that qualify for the regional playoffs in November.

APU (7-1) is the highest ranked team in the region among those teams with one loss.  All four of the teams ranked ahead of the Cougars are unbeaten led by Minnesota Duluth.

Minnesota State Mankato, Sioux Falls, S.D., and Ouachita Baptist, Ark., are ranked second, third and fourth.

Following Azusa Pacific in the rankings are Pittsburg State (Kans.), Northwest Missouri State and Humboldt State (6-1). 

In this week's AFCA national poll, Azusa Pacific is ranked 24th.  Humboldt State is among "others receiving votes" and is 30th overall.

APU and HSU split their two games this season accounting for their respective losses.
