PORTLAND, Ore. - A total of 28 student-athletes – including nine from Dixie State University and eight from Azusa Pacific University - have been selected to the 2013 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Academic all-conference football team.
Humboldt State linebacker Taylor Mitchell has the best GPA among the honorees with a 3.86 in business administration. That is just slightly better than Dixie State's Brock Johnson, who has a 3.85 GPA.
Johnson is one of 10 repeaters on the academic team from last year. Dixie wide receiver Matt Porrazzo was the only player selected for the third year in row.
