LOUISVILLE, Kent. - Led by freshman Henry Cheseto, Alaska Anchorage finished sixth for the best team finish by a West Region team Saturday in the NCAA Division II National Cross Country Championships at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park.

It was the fifth consecutive year in which UAA has finished in the Top 10 in the national meet.

Three Seawolf athletes placed in the Top 40 to earn All-American honors led by Cheseto who placed 23rd in a time of 31:15.3.

Also earning All-American honors were Dominik Notz and Michel Ramirez, who finished 28th (31:22.6) and 30th (31:24.5), respectively, on the course which was shortened to 9,560 meters due to weather conditions.

Adams State won the team title for the third year in a row finishing with 69 points.  UAA, which recorded a team score of 196, was the only West Region team to finish in the Top 10.

Western Washington placed 13th and Simon Fraser earned a 20th place team finish in its first trip to the NCAA national meet.
