MARSHALL, Minn. – Adding to an already impressive season at the plate, Montana State Billings junior Kaleo Johnson has attained yet another prestigious award, this time receiving a second-team selection to the 2018 Division II Conference Commissioners Association Baseball All-America Team.

In his first season with the Yellowjackets, Johnson has received all-American honors from the NCBWA to go along with regional accolades from the D2CCA, NCBWA and ABCA. Seven total players from the West Region were selected for D2CCA All-America honors.

Johnson, the GNAC Newcomer of the Year, was an offensive force for a Yellowjackets’ team that holds the GNAC single-season home run record of 78. Johnson led the Yellowjackets to its third GNAC regular-season title in four years as he finished the season with a league-best .412 batting average and 17 home runs. Five of his home runs came at the GNAC Championships. He is second in Division II with a .845 slugging percentage.

Le Moyne’s Josiah Gray was named the 2018 D2CCA Ron Lenz Pitcher of the Year while Delta State’s Zack Shannon was named the Ron Lenz Player of the Year for the second-straight season.

The D2CCA encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
