NEW ORLEANS – Led by her selection in five different events, Concordia sophomore Paige Johnson leads a total of 85 GNAC athletes selected as Division II Indoor Track and Field All-West Region honors from the U.S. Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Johnson earned All-West Region honors in the 60 meters, 60-meter hurdles, high jump, long jump and the pentathlon. To receive all-region honors, an athlete must be one of the top-five individuals in their events in their respective region. Selected athletes must also be from USTFCCCA member institutions.

Three men’s athletes were recognized as All-West Region in three events. The list includes Alaska Anchorage junior Felix Kemboi in the mile, 3,000 meters and distance medley relay; Seawolves’ senior David Sramek in the pole vault, heptathlon and distance medley relay; and Saint Martin’s sophomore Tyler Cronk in the high jump, long jump and triple jump.

Additionally, 18 GNAC athletes were recognized as having the top marks in the West Region. This includes Simon Fraser senior Addy Townsend, who has the region’s top times in the 800 meters and mile and was part of the Clan’s leading distance medley relay team.

A total of 50 men and 35 women from the conference received All-West Region honors. Western Washington led GNAC institutions with 14 honorees, 13 of which were from the men’s team. Alaska Anchorage, Central Washington and Concordia had 13 honorees apiece.
