INDIANAPOLIS – Great Northwest Athletic Conference association commissioner Bridget Johnson Tetteh, a longtime fixture in the local track and field community, has been selected to serve a four-year term on the NCAA Men’s & Women’s Track and Field Rules Committee.

Tetteh began her term in September and will serve on the committee through August 2023. She is one of two Division II representatives on the nine-member committee.

The role of the Track and Field Rules Committee is to establish and maintain the rules consistent with the traditions of the sport and of such character as to ensure good sportsmanship and safe participation by the competitors. The committee’s work is subject to the final authority of the NCAA’s Playing Rules Oversight Panel.

Now in her eighth year as the GNAC’s associate commissioner, Tetteh serves as the meet director for the conference’s cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field championships. In that role, Tetteh is charged with coordinating the successful execution of each event and working with the conference’s coaches and officials groups.

A track and field student-athlete at Western Oregon, Tetteh won GNAC championships in the heptathlon in 2005 and 2006, the 100-meter hurdles in 2006 and as a member of the Wolves’ 4x400-meter relay in 2005. A two-time NCAA Division II All-American in the heptathlon (2005 and 2006), Tetteh was inducted into the Western Oregon University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016.

After graduating from Western Oregon, Tetteh served as an assistant track and field coach at both Western Oregon and Pacific (Ore.) before moving on to the GNAC office in 2012. Her professional experience in the sport includes serving as the meet director for the 2013 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships, hosted by the GNAC, and serving as a member of the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III National Awards Committee.

In addition to her track and field work, Tetteh has served on NCAA regional advisory committee for volleyball from 2012 to 2014 and has been the site representative for three NCAA West Regional championship events.
