OTTAWA, Ont.  – Simon Fraser University Softball senior Taylor Lundrigan has earned a spot on Softball Canada's Women's Elite Team following a Selection Camp held in Mississauga, Ontario.

Lundrigan will represent Canada this summer at the Canada Cup International Softball Championship, which will be held in Surrey, BC from July 11-17. She previously represented the country as a member of the Junior Women's National Team in 2015.

"I'm very excited to be selected to play on the Canada Elite Team because it feels like I am a step closer to my goal of making the Senior National Team in the future that will be heading to Tokyo for the 2020 Olympics," said Lundrigan. "This will be my second time representing Canada and the feeling doesn't get old. I am so proud to wear the leaf."

In 2017, the Abbotsford native earned Great Northwest Athletic Conference All-Conference Second Team honors. She was also named by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) to the NCAA Division II All-West Region Second Team.

Lundrigan led the Clan and was eighth in the conference with a .396 batting average. She was tenth in the conference with eight home runs and eighth with 12 doubles. The shortstop was among the conference leaders in slugging percent (.655), runs scored (33), hits (55), RBIs (29) and total bases (91). Lundrigan, a unanimous selection by conference coaches to the All-GNAC Team, was an all-conference selection for the third straight year.
