PORTLAND, Ore. – Concordia guard Jarrett Gray got it done both on the floor and in the classroom all through his undergraduate years, so it is no surprise he is doing the same as a graduate student.

One of the conference’s scoring leaders and the floor leader of the Cavaliers, Gray’s 4.00 grade point average as a student in Concordia’s Master’s of Business Administration program headlines 29 selections to the 2018-19 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball All-Academic Team.

Gray, who finished his undergraduate studies with a 3.64 cumulative GPA as a marketing major, leads the Cavaliers and is ranked sixth in the GNAC in scoring with 15.8 points per game. He leads the conference with a .894 free throw percentage, is second with 33.8 minutes played per game and is third with a .483 three-point percentage.

Gray is among eight selections to the All-Academic team with a GPA of 3.70 or better. He is also among 15 players that are repeat selections to the team.

Seattle Pacific senior Sam Simpson leads the list of seven student-athletes to be named to the All-Academic Team three or more times, earning his fourth nod. Also earning three-time selections are Concordia’s Gray and senior Jace Cates, Saint Martin’s seniors Rhett Baerlocher and Kazuma Lane; and Seattle Pacific seniors Nathan Streufert and Coleman Wooten.

The Falcons lead all GNAC programs with eight total selections, including five repeat selections.

To qualify for the GNAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be of sophomore standing or greater, must be in their second season at the nominating institution and have a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or greater.
