AUSTIN, Texas – Additional soccer awards continue to come for the GNAC as a pair of players were selected to the 2018 Google Cloud CoSIDA Division II Academic All-America Team.

It was a pair of representatives from Seattle Pacific receiving the nod as defender Luke Postma and midfielder Travis Swallow garnered second and third team selections. The duo helped the Falcons to an 8-11-0 mark for the 2018 campaign.

Postma, an accounting major with a 3.98 GPA, was a Second Team Academic All-America selection. The senior started all 18 matches in his final season in Seattle. He helped anchor a strong SPU back line in his four years, helping his team register 15 shutouts. Postma has displayed consistent brilliance in the classroom to the tune of three selections to the All-GNAC academic team.

Swallow led the GNAC selections with a 4.00 GPA. A business administration major, he started 16 matches for Seattle Pacific and anchored an offense from his midfield position that finished second in the GNAC in points (96) and goals (34). Swallow shined brightest in a mid-October match against Western Washington, where he tallied both a goal and an assist in a 4-2 victory over the Vikings.

To be eligible for the Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-America Team, student-athletes must have at least a 3.30 grade-point average, have already completed one season of competition and be a starter or significant reserve.

The 33 Academic All-Americans were selected based on voting from the pool of those that received first-team regional academic honors.
