PORTLAND, Ore. – Top performers on both the pitch and the classroom, the GNAC is well represented on the nation’s premiere academic honor roll with a total of 10 selections to the CoSIDA Division II Academic All-District 8 Men’s and Women’s Soccer Teams, which were announced on Oct. 29.

Seattle Pacific received a total of six selections to the squad and landed four of the GNAC’s six men’s selections. Western Washington received to selections to the women’s team while Northwest Nazarene and Simon Fraser each placed a player on the men’s team.

Seattle Pacific junior Hannah Huesers leads four GNAC selections to the Division II All-District 8 Women’s Soccer Team. Huesers has a 3.46 grade point average as an accounting major and leads the GNAC in goals (12), points (26) and shots (74) this season. A First Team All-West Region last year, she has led the Falcons this season to a GNAC tournament berth as the No. 3 seed.

Western Washington senior Catherine Miles was selected with a 3.71 GPA as a chemistry major. The Anacortes, Wash., native is ranked second in the GNAC this season in goals (9), points (22) and shots (48), only trailing Huesers in each category. Miles was a Second Team All-West Region selection as a junior. The Vikings clinched the GNAC regular season title on Oct. 29 and will be the No. 1 seed in the GNAC Championships. They have won 14 matches in a row.

Joining Huesers and Miles on the Academic All-District Team is Seattle Pacific senior Shayla Page and Western Washington senior Savanna Moorehouse. Page is a defender for the Falcons and has a 3.95 GPA, majoring in communications. Moorehouse is a kinesiology major with a 3.69 GPA.

Senior forward Ian Adams leads a group of four Seattle Pacific men’s soccer players on the Academic All-District men’s soccer team. Adams is second on the Falcons this season in points (11) and goals (4) and is an accounting major with a 3.73 GPA. He was a Honorable Mention All-GNAC selection as a junior. Joining Adams are defenders Davis Karaica and Jeffrey Collings and midfielder Jordan Kollars. Karaica has a 3.70 GPA in exercise science, Collings has a 3.75 GPA in physiology and Kollars is an engineering major with a 3.95 GPA.

Northwest Nazarene senior Erik Anderson and Simon Fraser junior Brandon Watson join the four Falcons on the Academic All-District Team. Anderson is the lone student-athlete from men’s and women’s soccer in District 8 with a perfect 4.0 GPA. The engineering major is also one of the top forwards in the GNAC, leading Northwest Nazarene to a 11-5-1 overall record this season. Anderson leads the Crusaders this season in goals (6), ranking fourth in the GNAC. He is also fifth in the conference in total points (27).

Watson is the all-district goalkeeper for district eight with a 4.15 GPA on the Canadian scale as a kinesiology major. Watson has led Simon Fraser to second place in the GNAC this season with a 8-3-4 overall record. He is second in the GNAC in goals against average (0.76) and tied for first in shutouts (8).

Nominated and voted upon by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the District II Academic All-District 8 Teams are comprised of selections from the GNAC, the PacWest Conference and the California Collegiate Athletic Association. District selections are now eligible for selection to the CoSIDA Division II Academic All-America Teams, which will be announced on Mon., Nov. 23.
