KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A total of 13 GNAC men’s basketball players and two teams have been recognized for academic achievement by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).

The 12 were named to the NABC Honors Court on July 18, which recognizes those student-athletes who have excelled in academics during the past season. The program honors juniors and seniors who exceed a 3.20 cumulative grade point average.

Concordia had six players named to the Honors Court. The group includes seniors Latrell Wilson, Davis Nuaimi and Drew Martin, along with junior Taylor Harris, Bryan Michaels and Christopher Edward. Montana State Billings had two honorees in senior Jace Anderson and Kendall Dunham. Also named to the team were Central Washington senior Terry Dawn, Saint Martin’s senior Victor Ieronymides and Western Washington seniors Taylor Stafford and Evan Scholten along with junior Trey Dreschel.

Of the 13 Honors Court selections,10 were named earlier this season to the GNAC Men’s Basketball All-Academic Team.

To qualify for selection to the NABC Honors Court, a student-athlete must be of junior or senior academic standing with a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or better at the conclusion of the academic year. The student-athlete must have been enrolled for at least one year at their current institution and be a member of a team with a NABC member coach.

In addition to the NABC Honors Court honorees, Concordia and Western Washington were recognized with the organization’s Team Academic Excellence Award. The program recognizes institutions have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better for the 2016-17 season.
