GNAC Basketball Championships Remain On Schedule

SEATTLE - The announcement Friday afternoon that Seattle Pacific University will transition away from in-person classes beginning Monday, March 9 will not affect the remaining schedule of the GNAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships being conducted at SPU’s Royal Brougham Pavilion.

In the announcement, Seattle Pacific said it was not aware of anyone on its campus with COVID-19. SPU also said that campus offices and departments will remain open.

The 10-game GNAC Championships, which began Thursday, are scheduled to conclude on Saturday with the men’s and women’s title games.

GNAC and SPU personnel are closely monitoring the recent events in King County including updates provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Washington State Department of Health, and Public Health of Seattle & King County.

Any updates or changes to the remaining championships schedule, if warranted, will be posted at www.gnacsports.com.

Anyone who is planning to attend the GNAC Championships in person should follow the prevention guidelines distributed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
