PORTLAND, Ore. – GNAC Insider returned Tuesday at 7 p.m. (PT) with a loaded lineup for the show’s 200th episode. Among the episode’s guests were two winter athletes coming off of standout performances and a rowing coach ready to take on the conference’s inaugural season. Plus, the show highlighted a new inductee into the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Hall of Fame.

Leading off the show was Blake Timm, the GNAC’s assistant commissioner for communications. Timm spent 16 years as the sports information director of Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon before joining the GNAC. He is one of six members who will be inducted into the CoSIDA Hall of Fame in June at the 2020 CoSIDA Convention at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Conference Center in Las Vegas.

Fresh off a trio of individual victories at the GNAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, Concordia junior Paige Johnson joined the show. Johnson led the Cavalier women to their first-ever indoor track and field title and GNAC Team of the Week honors. She collected 35 points for the Cavs, winning the 60 meters, 60-meter hurdles and high jump while also running the third leg in the Cavs’ 4x400-meter relay squad that finished in fourth place.

Johnson’s 35 points are the second most earned in GNAC Indoor Track and Field Championships history. Her winning time of 7.52 seconds in the 60 meters broke the meet and conference records, earning her the Women’s Performance of the Meet award.

After helping to lead his team to a clinched berth in the GNAC Men’s Basketball Championships, Northwest Nazarene senior forward Adalberto Diaz also joined the show. Diaz averaged 24.5 points and eight rebounds per game last week as the Nighthawks picked up a 77-76 victory over Concordia on Thursday and an 89-87 win over Western Oregon on Saturday to punch their tickets to the GNAC Championships. The Nighthawks sit in a tie for second place with Western Washington with a 12-6 conference mark.

In his fourth year as the head coach of the Seattle Pacific women’s rowing team, Andrew Derrick joined the show. A former rowing standout at the University of Washington, Derrick went on to serve five seasons as the head coach at Central Oklahoma before returning to Seattle to lead the Falcons. The Falcons were picked to finish fourth in the inaugural GNAC Women’s Rowing Preseason Coaches Poll. The first-ever GNAC Women’s Rowing Championships is scheduled for May 16 at Lake Natoma in Gold River, California.
