D2 ADA Recognizes Academic Achievement Award Winners

CLEVELAND, Ohio – A total of 318 Great Northwest Athletic Conference student-athletes have been recognized by the Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) with its annual D2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards.

The program recognizes student-athletes who have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.00 scale, have attended a minimum of two years of college and have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during the last academic year. The program is open only to Division II institutions in which the the athletic director is a current dues-paying member of the D2 ACA.

Seven of the GNAC’s 11 full-member institutions were recognized by the program. Central Washington led the conference with 63 selections. Seattle Pacific had 56 student-athletes recognized and Western Oregon had 52 student-athletes honored. Other GNAC schools with student-athletes recognized include Concordia (43), Northwest Nazarene (47), Simon Fraser (11) and Western Washington (42).

In addition, 12 football players from GNAC affiliate member Azusa Pacific were recognized with Academic Achievement Awards.

In total, a record 10,644 student-athletes from 183 institutions were recognized with Academic Achievement Awards.
